Morgantown Board of Parks & Recreation

 The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to the City of Bentonville activities. Board members work in the public interest and speak for the general community in matters regarding parks and recreation. It is the duty of the Board members to promote and foster community involvement in parks and recreation activities. The Board shall stimulate and encourage communication with members of the community to ensure that programs, goals and objectives are consistent with community needs and desires.

The PARB advises the City Council on issues and policies affecting Milwaukie's recreation programs and facilities. The Board of 7 appointed members is responsible for: surveying recreation and leisure time needs; advising the Council on park and recreation needs; identifying future park locations; ensuring the development of park master plans; exploring park and recreation needs through consolidating grounds and programs with local schools; identifying park acquisition and development priorities and recommending methods of financing; establishing, evaluating, and monitoring maintenance standards of parks; and other activities as the Council may assign. (Milwaukie Municipal Code Chapter 2.12)

BOPARC meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the Pond House, Room #1 (2215 SE Harrison St, Milwaukie, OR) Board meetings are open to the public and visitors are encouraged to comment on the projects and tasks being considered by the Board.


 

Know before you go park & facility updates

Park Restrooms: All park restrooms and water fountains are open. Restrooms and fountains are seasonal and are open April 1st-October 30th.

Administrative office at Marilla Center: The Administrative office is open. The Marilla Center restrooms and water fountain remain closed to the general public. Please note: The BOPARC administrative offices are closed for lunch and cleaning from 11:30am-12:30pm.

Rental Facilities reservations/program registrations: Facility reservations can be made by calling the BOPARC administrative office at (304) 296-8356.
